Composed, Programmed, Mixed, Designed and Produced by Michael Robinson
Recorded and Mastered by Catharine Wood at Planetwood Studios
The Jewel Treasure of the Ocean is a new name for my third symphony, originally scored for full orchestra. The composition is based on the four seasons, beginning with summer, followed by autumn and winter, and concluding with spring.
For this recording, I have used a limpid vibraphone timbre to clearly illuminate the individual parts. The first movement uses a slow-moving diatonic melody for it's theme; the second movement is playful and rhythmic; the third movement is more dramatic; and the concluding movement moves at a brisk tempo.
