Watts and Decibels
Stan Levey and Charlie Watts
Watts is an apt name for him, rhythmic electricity flowing richly-smoothly and tonally-coloristically contrapuntally with deft accents, as opposed to Decibels. Charlie is a prime component informing the timeless, thrilling music of the Rolling Stones. Charlie Watts is pictured above with one of his jazz drummer heroes, Stan Levey, a titan of modern jazz who was also a boxer and photographer. - Michael Robinson, May 2020, Los Angeles
